A Peace of Mind is a Lifestyle Choice

Lifestyle Travel

A peace of mind requires dedication, determination, and consistency. It’s an opportunity that should be pursued and treated as if it is the love of your life.

The experience of a peace of mind doesn’t necessarily look and feel the same for everyone. It has been described by some as a person that brought them comfort and lifted their spirits. It can be a place that offered an escape from whatever or whomever they needed space from. It can also be the thing or activity that allowed them to release unhealthy or unwanted energy, or temporarily took their mind off their life challenges.

I often experience a peace of mind through yoga and meditation. I began incorporating these activities into my regular routine after being challenged by fibromyalgia years ago. I have found that it helps keep my stress level to a minimum, and it allows me to refocus and redirect when needed.

I’ve also experienced a peace of mind through the activity of pursuing my passions. When I’m in my creative mode, be it writing, painting, formulating skin care products, sourcing products for my online boutique, creating content, reworking upcycled garments, I put forth great effort not to allow anything or anyone to disrupt my peace.

When I travel to another country, my goal is to embrace the entire experience. The people, the views, the food, and the culture. There’s something about traveling to other countries that humbles me. I truly appreciate that experience.

If I travel via flight, it’s the clouds for me. There’s something about the clouds that bring me peace. I find them beautiful and unique. As soon as the plane reaches the clouds, I begin snapping pictures.

I especially love water, so traveling to a tropical island or via a vessel that travels through a beautiful large body of water gives me all the feels.

One of my favorite travel activities is cruising. I enjoy cruising because it allows me to unplug and reconnect to the peaceful spiritual part of me. Being on the water soothes my soul and calms my spirit.  I sleep extremely well. I continue my practice of yoga and meditation during the cruise, and I somehow always find time to read and or write. I can sit on the balcony of a cruise ship for hours. Sometimes I’m thinking about things, and other times, I’m just embracing enjoying, and appreciating a special and beautiful moment in time, that's filled with so much peace.
